ARTIST BIOGRAPHY

Monica Belluz took an interest in art at an early age and developed her skills at the university level.  Concentrating on painting and drawing, she has participated in many group exhibitions.  Her creative talent has been recognized through the receipt of awards for her original art and jewellery designs.  

She resides in Niagara Falls, Ontario, and has been instructing art in the Niagara area for over 5 years.  Monica has implemented art workshops for the Night of Art at the Niagara Falls Museum, the Niagara Parks Commission Winter Market as well as for the Indigenous Diabetes Health Circle.  Originally from Thunder Bay, Ontario, her teaching background spans over 20 years.  Her students have exhibited their work and won numerous awards.  

Currently, a number of locations are selling her work including the Niagara Parks Gift Shops.  Monica has recently been chosen to create an original painting of the Niagara Falls City Hall.  Previously, she was commissioned to create drawings of two city owned buildings in Thunder Bay.  Her artistic skills have been utilized at the Thunder Bay Museum were she was employed for many years.  Monica’s work in professional theatre involved holding the position of Head of Props and Scenic Painting at Magnus Theatre completing 11 productions, as well as Junior Scenic Artist at the Stratford Festival.  Her published book entitled Museum Encounters includes her own illustrations.  

She approaches each project with enthusiasm and dedication and enjoys working on a variety of artistic endeavours.
